April Showers

...Well, today we woke up to showers. Snow showers.  Yes, in April.  We had planned a nice little farmer's market excursion to Johnson's with the kiddies this weekend, but I bailed.  The sad fact is that I'm a fair weather shopper.  Actually, I'm a fair weather everything.  Living in a four season climate does have its advantages as far as garden variety goes, but considering that our first snowfall of "winter" was Thanksgiving Day... and it's still snowing... let's just say I'm ready for flip-flops.

There are some exciting events planned for April, what with Easter/Passover.  But for the purposes of this blog, April will heretofore be known as.....

National Grilled Cheese Month!!
(yes, this is a real thing!)

To celebrate, we will be visiting a beloved South Jersey establishment, The Pop Shop.  Featured on an episode of "Throwdown! with Bobby Flay", The Pop Shop is known for, amongst other treats, a gazillion varieties of grilled cheese sandwiches.  I must also personally recommend the "Irish nachos" (potatoes instead of tortilla chips, haha) and the apple pie milkshake.

We will try our hand at a few salad and sandwich recipes.  We are not naive enough to promise that your children will like and eat our creations.  But as any parent knows, nothing goes better with someone else's half-eaten, fresh-off-the-kitchen-floor, room temperature grilled cheese sandwich than...a glass of wine.

We will also attempt to answer the question "what do we do with all of those left over local Jersey Fresh Easter Eggs?!"
