Spring Greens

Spring is now upon us.  Although you wouldn't know it, considering the snow, frost, and below freezing temperatures.  Still, the crocuses came up a week ago and the daffodils are in bloom, suggesting that perhaps there will soon be an end to the bleak winter.

March is an exciting month here in J-town.  Aside from about 90% of the population celebrating St. Patrick's Day, we are also celebrating the opportunity to finally (finally!) take the little kiddies outside to the park.  There they will spend long hours burning loads of energy, eventually collapsing into bed an hour early.  Well, one can dream.

But nowhere are things more exciting than in the  garden... asparagus, artichoke, peas, mint and herbs... not to mention lettuce and spinach. In the next month or two, great produce will be hitting the farmers' markets full force.

Eventually it will make its way to our kitchen, and when it does, we will be ready.
